How we started
We (Tom & Jen Esty) started as Pet Works of Maine in 2002, making products such as raised feeders & painted signs, leash hooks, etc. for the modern pet (& owner). Tom is a carpenter by trade so our first products were of the "wood nature". Since Jen is more of a "crafter" & not so much a carpenter she yearned for something to devote her natural skills to. The next part of the growing Pet Works line evolved to include herbal pet grooming products including dog soap, shampoo, paw balm, etc.

The Human Nature Line is Born
Not long after developing the pet grooming line of products we started getting requests for such items as people soap, candles, lotions, etc. We realized that by expanding to the "human" side of product development & merchandising we would be able to target a wider consumer base. Yes, that also meant a lot more time being spent to the business (ie. less "free" time for us). We were willing to take that step, however. And now we introduce the Human Nature line of bath & body products & soy wax candles. We invite you to try our products & check our site often since we are always adding new stuff. Please let us know at any time if you have any questions, comments or requests. We do take special orders if you are interested in something we do not currently offer for sale.
